How a Fuel Pump Works
I look apart a fuel pump to see what is inside and how it works. I made a video on the process:
Here are a few pictures for your information:
Fuel pump is stored inside the gas tank:
Removed from the vehicle, it is an assembly consisting of the sender unit, motor/pump, filter, pressure regulator and empty tank sensor:
A look at how the system works as a hole:
There’s a sock on the bottom that acts as a filter to the motor:
On the bottom is this little valve that controls the pressure by allowing excess fuel to go back to the tank:
A closer look at the printed circuit board where the float picks up the resistance readings for the fuel gauge:
Inside the motor, a paddle with a spiral to force gasoline through the motor itself:
Inside the fuel filter/ pressure regulator assembly:
All the parts that make up the fuel pump assembly:

Great video as always, speedkar.
I have one question, though. At the start of the video, you said the assembly was at the top of the back seat. Did you mean the top of the fuel tank? That would make more sense.
