Alex Dykes on the latest Kia Sportage.
Leave it to Alex Dykes (from Alex on Autos) to come up with a good, thorough review of just about anything on four wheels. Here he looks at the latest version of the Kia Sportage...my brother has a brand-new SX Turbo, only about a month old.
I'll admit that Alex has a somewhat monotonous and droning voice, and that he sometimes speaks too quickly, or in run-on sentences. But there's virtually nothing on a vehicle, inside or out, that this guy doesn't catch. If anyone in the review business earns his money, he does. As somebody who does reviews myself, this is probably the guy I look up to the most. I've always liked John Davis of Motorweek, a super-nice guy (who I see at auto shows sometimes, and we talk)....but, with all of the other Motorweek functions mixed in, John simply doesn't have enough time slotted on that TV show for good individual reviews on each vehicle. Alex, on the other hand, goes over every square inch...and has the time for it.
Enjoy.

I like his reviews a lot too. I like the way he compares each vehicle to thoroughly to everything in its segment also. They're not funny or exciting, but I can sit through a 25 Minute review of his no problem.
Have you tried watching Motor Week content on YouTube? It's better than watching the show IMHO, because you can watch the individual segments and skip what you don't care about. They have other content too that doesn't make it to the show, and their round table podcasts are really good. It's interesting listening to John talk in a normal voice lol

i like his reviews, but i think he could accomplish the same thing with a lot fewer words.

I like Alex's reviews of cars I'm seriously interested in. For vehicles that I'm just curious about, or just want a little information on, I find them a too long and a bit repetitious. Overall a good reviewer who know his stuff.

on cars i'm less interested in, i skip forward and look at his ratings at the top.
