It's not that $100k is not attainable by a good majority of buyers, that's not the case at all. It's that when you compare what else you can get in a sports coupe at around $100k that the LC might see more competition than we realize. The numbers that it produces, and the lack of marquee name for a sports car would place this at a disadvantage over a Carrera S for example. No doubt that there will be people who really want an LC, but the heritage of the Porsche badge is decades old and has a more passionate fanbase with money than the Lexus brand.

I think when you get into the area of coupes, I don't think you have a whole lot of cross shopping. This is a luxury purchase, its not a pragmatic purchase and I think people tend to see a coupe they really want, that speaks to them on some level and thats what they buy. The LC is a very different car than a Carrera S. Its a big front engined V8 tourer, and the 911 isn't that. In any event, $100k is a fully loaded LC, and not even a Carrera S, that starts at $106k.

I predict they sell every LC they make, and they won't make many.
