the IS came out a few years before this current gen C class so of course the C class is more updated and nicer. I would only get the C43 or above....

Just one year. The 3IS came out in '13 as a '14. The current C Class came out in '14 as a '15.

The current C Class doesn't really do anything for me. I like the previous version better.

The current C has a Class (hah hah) leading interior. Nobody in the segment can touch it. Safety... best unibody too. For a while I wanted a C43 or at least Sport with the 19s. But it's a bit long in the tooth now and I'm really kind of over sports sedans. They eat through tires and brakes like no tomorrow and get poor fuel economy and have cramped quarters. if i'm going to drive a small car i want small car fuel economy and maintenance costs =)

I really want a CX-5 turbo though.

I couldn't live with how lies the dash squeaked.
3 years = near the end of the warranty and probably the 1st leasee... Thats all Mercedes really needs to attain, this aint no Lexus (who publicly has stated the only vehicle that has really the ultimate 25 year service life are the LC/LX platform).

The C Class does have a massive wheelbase, and flexing is one of the disadvantages of massive wheelbases.

However, it had very few miles at the time, so maybe it'd develop some squeaks on the crappy roads around here... My IS has been really solid in that regard, with only some minor rattles that happen from time to time and seem to be dependent on how cold it is.
My wife's old 2IS is still very solid in body structure; it does creak now and then, but the creak only seems to come from the old "waterfall-type" vertical central console designs which don't seem to have been designed to flex relative to the horizontal dashboard and the body of the car.

Meanwhile, my wife new IS200t is rock solid - even stiffer than my longer wheelbase 4GS, but I believe that the new 4GS & 3IS's different dashboard to central console design may have suspension or flex properties where the vertical central console has a flexible/suspensory join with the horizontal dashboard.
