They don't want us to say but I'll say it

Speaking of KEY FOBS, I had the rare misfortune of leaving mine in the pocket of pants I THREW IN THE LAUNDRY THIS WEEKEND. Would anyone care to play along and guess if the fob still worked?

I've done it at least twice (maybe more....don't remember). Each time, still worked like new.....both with the Subaru's plastic fob-case and GM's metal-casing.

Yep....couldn't agree more. GM uses metal-casings for their fobs. I've screwed up at least twice, and either jumped into the pool with it still in my shorts pocket or ran it through the wash machine...both times, even in the chlorine-water of the pool, it came out just like new, and still operates that way today, even though it's five years old.

That's amazing! Even with the immobilizer chips in most keys today nothing happened after a dunk in the pool and washer. There must be an internal rubber seal isolating the main logic board and battery. The membrane of the actual button(s) are probably also behind a heavy duty seal before the exterior hard button surface.

You are the winner...it DOES still work!!! It is obviously very well SEALED. Just another example of a QUALITY product.

I must say that thanks to this thread I am very disappointed in the behavior of polar bears. They apparently also eat whales and seals, not cool at all! Stick to veggies if you want to be in my zoo.
