This is a pretty cool list! I want an old ES250 but they sure are hard to find.

ES250s are a rare sight indeed. they were hard to find 10 years ago! they didnt sell well and were prone to rust which helped kill off some more of them. a 5-speed manual was also offered in the ES250 which nobody bought, as well as the 1st gen ES300s MY1993 IIRC

contrary to popular belief, the rarest production lexus isnt the LFA or anything mentioned above, but believe it or not, some of the 3rd gen GS are the rarest. like the 2007 GS430. yes, they made them in 07 too. only a hundred or so, but they do exist

and the rarest of them all? the 2011 GS460. a scant 23 produced.

There is a reason the Neiman-Marcus edition is hard to find. As I recall, it was a silver-purple color with a lipstick red exterior. The Neiman-Marcus clients who did buy them have probably sold them or are keeping them in the garage out of embarrassment.

I like the pebble beach edition of SC430.

one Lexus I regret selling was my 97' 5 speed SC300, only 120 were made for its last year :c

I think they are wrong about the ES250. When it first debuted, I saw plenty of them on the road. The interior had an elegant two-tone look, along with the fancy needle gauges, polished wood trim, gathered leather on the doors, and a super smooth V6.

Nice, clean, original paint 1st gen SC's are hard to find now days. Every once in a while you'll find a nice one, low miles, garage queen, original paint, interior, etc, and its usually $6 to $12k. I know I paid $9000 for my 1992 SC300/5speed(manual transmission is extra rare) with 60k miles on it, almost perfect condition, all original factory paint, almost perfect factory leather interior, that was in 2012. Car is still clean as hell with 99,400 miles on it, I swear I'm going to bake a cake when it rolls over 100k lol.

I also believe there were around 40k ES250 models produced, double what the article claims...
