Another month of down sales figures for Lexus. 7.5% down YOY. Lexus, how are those ancient powertrains and ugly front ends working for you? Apparently not too great compared to MB and BMW.

G80 (1347) outsold GS (737) almost 2:1 in March (and it's over 2:1 YTD)
G90 (408) outsold LS (370)

bright spots for lexus though are the nx/rx/es which continue to sell in great numbers.
gx sold almost as many as is

Those numbers for Lexus cars are downright scary! What are they going to do if the entire year is like this?

When does that good looking Kia Stinger GT come out? That thing will take even more sales away from the Lexus sedans.

Lol mainstream car buyers don't care about power train age, this is not a detail that they follow.

And Lexus' SUV sales are good and they also have your so called "ugly front end".

Just because you think it's ugly, doesn't mean its deterring sales.

Its OK new GS is only few years away and the new LS is right around the corner with that monster V6 engine that will win over those Sclass buyers. IS just got a refresh with a more elegant front grill.

In all seriousness, hopefully LC will generate some positive buzz and get more prospective buyers into showrooms.

100% wrong on that.

Say you leased a 2013/14 GS and now you would like to stay with Lexus but the base GS has the same engine and GSF is too much $$$$$. Options are very limited.
Say your average joe, had your 2IS since 2008 and now ready to move up to something nicer / newer. Yes sir we have new GS350 with the same engine spec as your car from 10yrs ago!

Customers these days are not dumb especially those buying a luxury brand.
They are picky and want the latest and greatest - otherwise they would just settle for Camry.

the buyers you're referring to don't care about any differences between ES and GS either so they buy the ES.

maybe the big shnozz works better on the bigger vehicles. somehow the GS 'refresh' made it worse.

G80 does not compete for most Lexus GS buyers. You can tell this because when the new 5 series went on sale in Jan/Feb, GS sales tanked, but G80 sales were not impacted.

GS will get pummelled by the E-class, new 5er, and new A6 next year. It will probably fall to 300-500/mo. G80 will continue on irrelevant.
