I think this vehicle is a stunning work of art. Its automotive excellence at its best. While watching what Lexus has been releasing and how they have let their upper tier products age so much, Mercedes is taking their higher end cars to a whole other level. This is Rolls Royce territory with a $325k price tag. Sadly, Lexus does not at all compete at their higher level. This is why I simply do not believe that Lexus is a still a Tier 1 brand, they are in between Tier 2 and Tier 1 and its because products like this.

Mercedes offers not one but two crazy powerful engines in their S-Class and one of them is a V-12. I also really love the fact that we can't really the see the brakes as the wheel rims cover most of it up. Well done Mercedes.

For the price I would much rather have the Rolls, or better yet a Bentley (sportier drive). This just looks like the standard S with ugly 80's Corvette wheels.

It's nice, but I would've vastly preferred more differentiation as well. Guess that's why they're only offering 300 units.

Lexus doesn't need to compete at this level. The volume is simply too low.

I'll agree it's a beautiful car. Reminds me in some ways of the classic 1950s Mercedes gull-wing 190/300SL....though, of course, with a lot more engine and interior.

Looks like with the price of this Maybach convertible, I can pay for my AMG GTS AND buy another S550 coupe with a pretty similar designo interior except for the Maybach logo

Yes you can..but neither are V12s and neither are open top convertibles.

Yes but the GTS is still faster than this Maybach convertible and handles a lot better.
I still prefer the S class coupe over the convertible, I don't like ragtops. I would rather have these two mercedes instead of one Maybach convertible
I do understand why some people find the S class convertible appealing though, since they have not built one for a long time.

So what that it is faster ( I would have to double check the facts on that). The Maybach seats more, is more luxurious, and has the ultimate bragging rights in the V-12 and uber exclusivity
