Yeah I don’t have much confidence in how it’s going to look...

If it hasn't (?) already been posted, here's Autoweek's take on what a long-wheelbase, 3-row RX will look like.

Remember they aren’t stretching the wheelbase, only making it longer.

I think the rear window will be far more upright than the Autoweek image.

From the spy shots, it's definitely not bolt upright, but obviously not quite as raked as the RX350 is now. Almost looks like it maintains a parallel/same angle relationship with the rear door glass. Assuming they're using the same rear door, that may also impede ingress/egress from that 3rd row, which is where are more upright 2nd row door would help, obviously at the cost of rakish design.

being too cheap to make a longer wheelbase makes it really fugly with giant front/rear overhangs.

egh, it doesn't look as bad as I expected.

But most probably will only have room for midgets and kids in the 3rd row.

Here's a to-scale comparison.

Thanks for taking the time to post that. It really helps and to me it indicates it might not be as bad as I was expecting.

The 3rd row in our Highlander is pretty small. Adults can fit in there and ride for a limited amount of time, but it's really only comfortable for kids. But using it for kids is exactly what we bought it for. If this had been available when we bought our Highlander, I probably would have at least considered this as the replacement for our '13 RX350. The lack of a 3rd row is what pushed us away from another RX, as this time we needed the extra seating but were so happy with our previous RX that we would have bought another had it met this requirement.

I think this thing, if priced appropriately, is going to sell in solid numbers.
