LOL - I thought I was the only one who was turned off by the Acura's beak and Lexus's cheese grater. So much so that during my recent car shopping/research expeditions these two didn't make the list.

Acura was doing a good job with the ILX/TLX/RDX, but this looks like a step backwards IMHO.

The headlights are cool. That's about the only thing I like

Maybe it'll look better in darker colors where the grille will blend in more?

Acura's biggest problem is still the interior and overall separation of this brand from the Honda brand products. There is seemingly nothing sacred for Acura save for the Sport Hybrid drivetrain. Whereas Lexus generally gets a lot of unique content that isn't available at all in the Toyota lineup (at least for a while).

that grille is ugly. They could have just removed the shield from the old grille.

It looks like they partially implemented the grille from this ugly monster.....

The previous fascia had an air of sophistication to it. This one looks cartoonish in a way. Beak is gone but at the cost of the SUV looking cheaper than it is.

If one analyzes it, most of today's new cars have oddly-shaped grilles. That is the norm. Removing the clogging shield and gaining open intake space is what really mattered here. The end result is no better or no worse than the average car/truck today. So Acura has moved into mainstream styling, which they desperately needed. That is big progress.
One thing I think they did get wrong was not doing this with the new NSX. That halo car should have led the way with their major styling turnover. So now the NSX will likely linger on for several years with the ugly, clogged snort, while most other models in their line-up will be updated faster with the new, modern grille. A day late and a dollar short, but we'll still take it.

jeez... that's something right there. idk what's going on with car design these days but these grilles are getting pretty out there. and they all need to look angry and angular, what was wrong with smooth flowing lines?

Welp, that's enough internet for the day.

Not so great MPG compared to the older RX450h that debut in 2009.

It looks like they smashed the front end of the current MDX into a wall and called it a day.
