Default Lease end turn in question: Tires?

I'm coming up to the end of a 30K/36 mo lease on my GS and will be turning it in a few weeks. The car still has the original tires on it. The fronts are in pretty good shape, but after 29K miles, the rears are pretty worn. Should I just turn it in and have them deduct the cost of new tires from my security deposit, or do I run the risk of Lexus charging me a ridiculous price for the replacement tires. I'd prefer to not hassle with getting new tires myself and if it's only a small difference between doing it myself and just turning it in, I won't bother. Thoughts?

Take it in and ask them to do a lease turn in appraisal and ask how much they will deduct for tires...

What tires are on it...is it an f sport? I would love to get 30k out of my tires

Thanks. Good suggestion. It's not an f sport. Yeah, my previous car was a 335i and I was lucky if I got 12k out of my tires on that car, so it was a pleasant surprise these lasted as long as they did. But I'm probably 6 mo, 4K miles past the point that the rears should have been replaced.

My car is an F-Sport.. And, after 13k miles, the tires still look to be in good shape..

30k lol. My F Sport needed tires at 18k. Summer tires on an RWD car in Texas don't last, especially with me. I'm not doing smoky burnouts but off ramps are always a test.

Makes me wonder if the rear wheel steering causes extra wear too. Mine has that little treat.

I was under the impression tires fall under normal wear and tear items- you should not be responsible for it. Just things like body damage, scratches, large dings, dents, etc. But maybe things have changed since the 90's. Check the fine print in your lease paperwork.
