New M6 will have over 600hp and priced around $110k+.

LC500 if priced at $80k is worth every penny with the 5.0 V8 and its current interior.
But Lexus / sources are saying it will be $100k + and at that price it needs to stand out with more power, luxury etc.

wait a year and that 80k is easily achievable for the LC that's collecting dust on the lot. Look at how much they have to discount RCF and GSF just to move units

What I feel bad about here are all the predictions of doom.

Lexus built the car that won a lot of hearts in show car form.

You might get an LC-F later in the life cycle.

The RC-F has to sell against an M4. Folks just want their M4. Plus the RC-F interior is crahp and the seats are uncomfortable.

The GS-F is a lovely car but doesn't have enough juice to compete in the segment.

Each car has it's own story board.

so now you are using m6 base price to compare with a loaded lc? the current m6 already starts at 113k, the next one will only be more expensive. most of the m6 i see these days are already in the 120k range. that's considerably more than 100k

the RCF seats are crap? Really? I think they are very high in quality and thickness.

Btw the RCF and GSF has identical upgraded seat (every single model has them)

Clearly the current estimated price range is 80-100k, if you don't believe it, check out the figures from every magazine that was in Spain for media day.

Why are you comparing m6 600hp to a LC500 471hp when there is already hush hush speculation that there will be an LCF?

I think it looks nice but there are two things I don't like.

I don't like that passenger center-console handle. Just reminds me of a corvette and visually shrinks the cabin.

I also don't like the instrument cluster. It's too small and can't display a lot of information without scrolling through different modes. I hate that. Makes me take my eyes off the road.

I like Audi's virtual instrument cluster way more just because it can show much more information simultaneously, without the need to scroll through different modes.

I hope the new LS isn't a cut-and-paste of the LC in regards to the instrument cluster.

Ok. I think you have made your point. Appreciate your input.

Is there anything positive that you do like?

Quoted for clarity, I believe he's talking about the RCF, in which I agree interior leaves some to be desired but don't think its crap, its pretty good for the competition imo.

LC's interior is already ahead of it's current competition but competitions new iteration? Nobody knows yet...

Next years 2018 RC and RC F will likely benefit from the 2017 IS refresh including a larger screen, better interior trimmings.

Can't wait to see the color palette on the LC interior!

Thanks G Star

I guess this thread went sideways with the references to the F lines.

To me, the LFA was a top shelf effort and the rest of the F cars have been well below Lexus's best efforts.

I have consistently been a big supporter of the LC.

I think the LC owners will enjoy a best in class interior and a wonderful driving/ownership experience.

I am in the minority here who think the LC will be best enjoyed in hybrid form, the version most in line with the original prototype vision.

The LC hybrid will be like butter.

It is true that cost-cutting is cost-cutting, regardless of what badge it is wearing on the grille. I think the main difference, though, is that the European makes seem to be able to hide their cost-cutting more effectively (under the skin), while Toyota/Lexus seems to do bean-counting where the customer is (at first) going to be more likely to notice it.....interior materials, hardware, sheet metal, door-closings, etc..... I myself have noticed that time and time again.

That doesn't mean, however, that Toyota and Lexus are necessarily doing a worse job overall. Under the skin, Toyota/Lexus still does some of the most reliable and longest-lasting drivetrains in the industry. I see a lot of complaints in this forum about Toyota and Lexus drivetrains being "dated", but IMO, that's a non-issue. To me, reliability is more important than always having the newest technology.

I have said all along if starting price is $80k, then the LC500 will sell very well and the interior is definitely up to par.
But if you look at GSF which $86-88k and comes fully loaded, I can't see the new LC starting at a lower price than the GSF.
Also all the Car mags i have readhave said it will be $100k+, lets hope that is not the case.

I put 650i/M6 in the conversation because in terms of size, luxury and performance its probably the closest competitor to LC.
Although the new one is about a year away.
Yes the M6 is about $120k with Comp pack, but historically Lexus has made a name for itself by giving you similar features/performance at a discount to the Germans.

Again the LC500 in a vacuum is a great car with amazing looks.
All im saying is at the price speculated of $100k, it does not provide enough performance or luxury that makes u say wow i gotta get it instead of paying that extra 20k for M6 or S550 coupe etc...

No matter what - its good Lexus is building it and hopefully a LC-F is not far behind.
My last post on this debate until we learn the actual price hopefully at Detroit Auto show.
