now a new SC would be nice. take the GS and chop off two doors and reskin it a bit, and we have a 6 series competior

 

I am. In fact, the LF-LC is the ONLY Lexus concept car so far to have its name after the "LF-" part directly used as the name of the production car.

IMO it makes sense. LC = luxury coupe while LS = luxury sedan.

 

I wholeheartedly agree. I figured Lexus would go with a two level coupe line similar to BMW with the 4 Series and 6 Series (there was an 8 Series once upon an time) and Mercedes SLC and SL. It appears Lexus will go with the RC line and LC line...SC moniker will be missed...

 

I can go with a three coupe line up...

RC 350
SC 460
LC 500

 

We all know the RC's competition and i can guess the 6 series, S class coupe, and upcoming Audi coupe will be for the LC but what competition would the SC have? Personally i would've like to see the SC designation resurrected but i guess i'll have to live with the LC.

 

the RC competes with cars like the 4-series, C-Class coupe, Q60, A5, ATS coupe and ect.

LC would be a S-class coupe, rumored A8 coupe, 8-series, and (production Cadillac Elmiraj?) competitor.

IMO Lexus still needs a new SC to compete with the SL, 6 series, Jaguar XK, 911 and if GM ever decided to bring back, the Cadillac XLR.

 

Maybe the SC could be something small, lightweight and exotic

A 911, AMG GT fighter would be ideal

 

Lexus could just take the production FT-1 and:

1. reskin it
2. nicer interior
3. Lexus logo
4. slap on the SC nameplate on
deja vu? (MKIV Supra and SC300/400).

 

It does look like the rebirth of the SC Lexus..>>It does look very nice though. Let see how it does in Detroit ..

 

That was the problem with the previous gen SC. It was too small and too expensive, thus was not selling too well. And we all know what Lexus does to models that don't sell lol
