I think it may have worked if they fixed the headlights/drl being so far off.

Well then they should call it the GS280t or simply the GS280 if that makes you feel better. They call the GS 3.5L Hybrid the GS450h after all.

dude, you don't make any sense. Whats 280 have to do with a 2.0, those numbers in the past always correlate with Engine size, like 4.0 = 400, 350 = 3.5.. Yes, The GS450 has a 3.5 but with the electric motors putting out extra TQ/HP, You would understand why they try to differentiate it from a 350.. And the 450h is quicker so there is a reason for its nomenclature..(it was also quicker than GS460 4.6 V8) Understand the history before quickly speaking off-base.. Cheers..

And going with a GS200t is like getting yourself neutered.. OMG.. So There will be a GS-F, a GS350 with 311 HP Whoopee.. and a GS200t... It was like when Infiniti put in a G25.. Great for leasing but ridiculous for the Marque Branding of such a hot car in its class..
What's wrong with it? I think it looks quite good.

Thats exactly his point. The 2.0 is their first turbo, and the turbo adds power just like the electric motors do. Thats why they could get away with calling it a "280t".

Really though, a badge is just a badge. If you don't like the "200t" take it off. I like the fact that the turbo is in this car, brings the price down some, makes it more accessible, gives more people the opportunity to consider it vs the ES and as enthusiasts thats what we want to see.

This is why we have choices. Don't want the 200t? Upgrade to the 350. Everybody else has a small displacement turbo 4 in this segment, and they sell very well. Smart of Lexus to follow suit. Hell, I would consider the 200t just because its a new motor vs the 3.5 thats so old.

If someone got into the business of making aftermarket Lexus front ends and bumpers they would probably make a lot of money. I cannot believe what my eyes nare seeing with these new Lexus front ends.

I know how to describe what's wrong with the front end.

It's like seeing double. Too many angles and lines crammed into a small area.
The busy-ness of the front end does not match the boringness of slab sides

This makes the infamous Acura "beak" seem like ancient history.

Yeah, they really should have called it the GS300t since it has more power and torque than the previous ben GS300. Then, when they finally update the 3.5 liter with a 3.0 turbo, that should be the 400t, and then keep the hybrid as the 450h. Otherwise, if they do 200t, it doesn't make sense for the hybrid to be a 450h, it should just be a 350h

One word. Why?

Besides the upcoming IS300 with it's detuned 3.5L V6 and Lexus hybrids, Lexus has always used nomenclature that depicts it's actual displacement size. Why ruin a good thing? 200t represents its 2.0T. Why does Lexus have to follow the Germans naming scheme?

So what is the logic behind having the hybrid model nomenclature mirror the displacement equivalent of the higher engine, and not use the same logic for the turbo?
