New seating designs, including available 28-way power front seats that feature heating, cooling and massage, exemplify this approach. The organically shaped dash design clusters information displays at uniform height to support the "seat-in-control" layout that emphasizes the driver's ability to operate all systems without the need to change posture.

Regarding eyesondesign, it appears all the new vehicles get awarded:

Just like the Tony awards. I like the interior, but I don't see the correlation between this award validations to comparisons to the S-Class interior.
I did notice addl similarities between the Nissan Vmotion and the LS.

What it does say is which categories could be won and who the winners were. Best interior takes up one category and the LS received the only best interior award.

It's the HUD that's 24 inches.

Yup, I'm not the only one who can see through the false pretenses? It's taken him/her/them a lot of time investment. She subtly puts down Lexus, while sprinkling in some praise to not be too obvious.

It's not the screen that is necessarily the problem but rather the controller placement for the passenger. Center stacks are so busy and there is no available space to cram in another MMI, iDrive RemoteTouch on it. Touchscreen is not the solution either as passenger side of the dash does not bend or extrude toward the passenger like the driver's side does and usually passengers set their seats further away from the dash. One solution is to have a wireless tablet a passenger can hold onto and control all of the software just like the driver with a possibility to attach the tablet on the passenger side of the dash and when tablet is not needed simply fold it into glove compartment or slide it in a side pocket on the center stack. There is also another solution which I will not discuss right now as just a year ago my study group designed the concept how to solve this and it works pretty well (and it's not a touchscreen)

That would be great if the controls were metal. They've always been painted plastic in the LS.
As for parking assist, does anyone actually use that in their LS? My GL and LS both have it and I only used it to test it and show my wife.

I am pretty fair and balanced by this car and most Lexus products. This car is a very nice car with some but I am not sure it is ahead of S-class or 7 series. I am also the biggest defender of the 3.5 TT engine and the performance numbers are off the chart. However, a lack of V8 is somewhat of a curious omission, I was the biggest defender of a lack of a V8. I believe eventually a V8 will show up and perhaps an even higher model line of Lexus if they do not put a V8 in this current model.
