i like the screen, but rest of the controls look very old, like 6-7 years old... too bad they did not redesign it as well. Also, too many lights?
Otherwise, everything does look awesome.

Well if they redesigned everything it would be a redesign not a facelift.... This is a low vol model, its really not worth the effort if they have a new one in the pipeline.

I LOVE the Headlights.
Most awesome, advanced, mean looking set-up I've ever seen. Simply GREAT!!!!
Tell me that headlight set-up wouldn't GRAB YOUR ATTENTION if it was coming up from behind!
You darn right know it would. Sinister, technologically advanced looking, just really really nice.

in any case, 2015 CLS with 50 buttons on central console looks really weird from MB that has extremely clean S class.

By making it more inline with the s class dash mb risks loosing some of that exclusivity.

as a refresh, this will do nicely. The controls are in line with the current E class anyway. Also, the model will probably be replaced within 3 years.
Im surprised they didn't replace the COMAND controller

That's actually false. The AMG GT even has this design and it will be as expensive as the S-class. The screen in these free-standing models is even more expensive than the hooded models because it needs better anti-glare properties. Personally I believe BMW's integration is less jarring. Word for germancarforums suggests:
1) The S-class will adopt the screen in later iterations...one of the big reasons it doesn't have it right now is because of the timing of the S-class' launch and the fact that the hardpoints stayed the same as the W221 S-class (the W222 isn't on the new MRA platform)
2) Yes the CLS is derived from the E. Timing of the E-class refresh prevented it from getting the screen, although the redesigned 2016 model will have it
