Finally, some modern tailpipe tips for Audi. Just hating this new trend of black plastic surrounding it all, and extending along the side of the rear fender.

Next-gen Audi A4 spied with no camouflage
Due later this year
A WCF user has sent us a couple of photos depicting the next generation Audi A4 while testing in Turkey.
This is the first time we can take a look at a prototype of the 2016 A4 with no camouflage. The photos once again reveal the model will be bigger than the previous generation in order to distance itself from the A3 sedan. The test mule also shows evolutionary taillights design and a dual exhaust system.
From what we know about the vehicle so far, chances are it will be based on the MLB Evo architecture and will be around 100 kg (220 lbs) lighter than its predecessor. The model is expected to gain a 1.4-liter TFSI engine with cylinder deactivation and a plug-in hybrid version with a 211 bhp 2.0 TFSI petrol unit and a 95 bhp electric motor.

Is this the new Audi A4? Engine lineup fully leaked!
Looks too aggressive
An anonymous tipster has informed us about two allegedly official images of the all-new Audi A4 (B9).
Originally published by AudiBlog.nl, the pics are apparently brochure scans although we have our doubts as the front fascia appears overly aggressive and the headlight design is a bit sketchy since the lower edge simply ends in the middle. In addition, these don't look exactly the same as the ones fitted onto a prototype grabbed on camera by our spy photographers earlier this month. The taillights depicted in the attached image seem to be wider than what the prototype had but maybe it's because of the poor quality of the image.
Another WCF reader informed us about the engine lineup which is being comprehensively detailed by Motor.es, as follows:
1.4 TFSI COD (cylinder on demand) with 125 HP and 6-speed manual gearbox;
1.4 TFSI with 150 HP and 6-speed manual / 9-speed S tronic;
1.4 TFSI COD with 180 HP and 6-speed manual / 9-speed S tronic;
2.0 TFSI with 225 HP and 6-speed manual;
2.0 TFSI quattro with 245 HP and 9-speed S tronic;
2.0 TFSI quattro hybrid with 225 HP + 35 HP (electric) and 9-speed S tronic
3.0 TFSI quattro with 272 HP and 9-speed S tronic;
1.6 TDI with 120 HP and 6-speed manual;
2.0 TDI with 125 HP, 150 HP, 177 HP and 6-speed manual / 9-speed S tronic;
2.0 TDI quattro with 177 HP, 190 HP and 6-speed manual / 9-speed S tronic;
2.0 TDI with 220 HP and 6-speed manual;
3.0 TDI quattro with 218 HP, 260 CV and 9-speed S tronic.
2.0 TDI e-tron with 190 HP + 136 HP (from two electric motors) and 9-speed S tronic

Interesting revelations. The spy car seems accurate. The two, small car pics do not. They simply look like stretched and flattened photos. Audi will continue on with it's high greenhouse as seen ontop.
As far as the motors, I don't see a 2.0T TFSI option with automatic and FWD. Maybe that will come out a half year later like it did with the last two A4's and the current new C-Class.
The 1.4T with 180 hp could be a good match for BMW's base 3-series offering. Hopefully 0-60 in the low seven's and 40 mpg on the highway. I could see that as being the #1 mover for the average driver.
Also may as well say, Audi started the modern CVT trend in 2002. Maybe they will end the trend with this new model.
