Angry certified used car warranty

I purchased a certified used Lexus about a year ago and was told to be a "certified" Lexus the car had to pass an extensive list of of well over 100 items. I have repeatedly asked my dealer for a list of the items inspected, replaced or repaired on my car and can not get an answer. I was given a repair and maintenance history, but it did not include what was done to make the car "certified" I called Lexus corporate and they did not seem to have an answer either but was promised to get back to me but despite repeated promises to call me back "tomorrow", I am still waiting for over a week. I thought that the selling dealer had to submit to corporate the paperwork so it could be certified. So why do they even have to contact the selling dealership? This sounds strange to me. Was the premium I paid for a certified Lexus just an addition to the price with no extensive examination of the car's condition???? Anyone have an experience like mine?

Your car may have not necessarily needed any repairs or replacement. The certification is first and foremost an inspection process and if all passes or if repairs are minor and cost-effective for them, then the car gets certified. Typically this is an easy markup justification for Lexus or any car brand for that matter who does something similar, but it's also an assurance a set quality standard has been met.

Check the PDF download and see the checklist items against your own vehicle for your own comfort and assurance: http://www.lexus.com/cpo/overview/certification.html

Good luck
