Kia's version of a Genesis Coupe perhaps

 

Looks like an R8 from the front, though I am not entirely surprised by that.

 

And the Quattro Concept.

Doesn't matter though, it's nice to see Kia want to expand the line-up with a RWD coupe most likely sharing underpinnings with the Genesis Coupe albeit with Kia Styling

 

Genesis coupe is a pretty low/entry level product, IMO. It would be nice to see Hyundai push it a bit up market at the redesign to make room and a business case for the Kia model.

 

You're right, the Hyundai would get pushed upmarket slightly in order to make room for something new and similar from Kia. I imagine the 370Z and Mustang are prime targets

When I saw the front end I was think Euro/Audi as well. But I'll hold off judgement until the concept is official unveiled.

 

Could someone explain the R8 references? The only thing I can remotely find the least bit similar is the way the hood angles over the headlight cluster, a feature shared with so many other current and past car designs it will never be considered completely original even by Audi standards. Also people are comparing this car to a six figure Audi but they haven't even seen it in person yet. If Kia can make this "cheap" RWD hatch look as expensive as a $100,000+ Audi then they have already succeeded in my honest opinion.

 

I also agreed that the hood and maybe the grill are similar. Moving on, judging by the over head shoot I posted it looks like it might be a hatchback.

At first, I laughed at it...but when I come to think about it. The car is totally fresh and Full of Characters

Combined to be a Funky Agressively looking Coupe. If this car come in sub 2800 LBS and 300+ RWD....FT86 is gonna sunk

 

Kia gets in it's own way.

they will never have up market penetration with a badge that sounds and looks like that.

that should have taken the Quoris brand rolled with it and branded it as it's own identity.

 

Kia and Huyndai Chief Designer was from Audi.
