I will say, this certainly looks more "4DSC" than the last two generations of Maxima

I think the angle exaggerates the front end but really, its no bigger than many Spindle grille designs.

The front could have been better if there wasn't a grille within a grille. The whole effect looks layered, or like its melting.

I like a grille within a grille more than a gaping hole. Layered = cool. One dimensional gaping grilles = unimaginative.

too many gaping grilles these days.

imagine....

A lot going on pretty much everywhere. I think I need to see this in person just like I needed to see some of the current Lexus models to appreciate the minor details and character lines. Definitely a love it or hate design language.

I lijs the idea of a floating roof and I can easily see people blacking it completely out for a two toned look ( like the new Range rovers).

I do want to see if they update the power train. While I never complain about the CVT in my Maxima, I wonder what it would feel like with a traditional auto in there. Oh Yea and 290 HP through the front wheels is more than enough so hoping for an awd option this go around.

I feel like that design is going to age quickly. The past few years, while at the Philly Auto Show, I felt like the current Maxima just has not aged well, and was in desperate need of updating. I see that happening very quickly with this model. AWD would be a nice upgrade, though.

Couldn't disagree more on the current Maxima. After 6 years it still looks great... better than even a lot of more recent designs.

I agree with you on that. The current model still looks good. I think they added clear taillights, and that's about it, but it still looks current.

Default 2016 Nissan Maxima's Interior Exposed for the First Time!

We've seen the new 2016 Maxima's exterior twice, once during Nissan's Super Bowl ad and then through official images, but this is our first ever look at the interior.

Nabbed while the car was in transport, the pictures reveal the dashboard that has a similar styling to the 2015 Murano with some notable differences such as the flat-bottom sports steering wheel and the lower center console that's angled towards the driver for a sportier, more enveloping feeling. This edition was also fitted with bucket sports seats.

A couple of other things we noticed include the new infotainment system with a large screen that's apparently controlled via a BMW i-Drive-like rotary dial and buttons positioned right behind the automatic transmission lever, and the large digital display between the two instrument panel dials. Overall, the cabin appears to feel more upmarket than you might expect from a car in this category.

Nissan hasn't slipped out any other details about the Maxima, but a V6 is surely to be offered.

The new generation of the Maxima will touch down at the 2015 New York Auto Show in April before going on sale during the second half of the year.
