You guys advised me to not trade in my 99 Lexus RX300 for a BMW 04 325i and I should have listened.
I mean the BMW is fine but it just doesn't drive like the Lexus and it doesn't even have a tape slot like the RX did.
I miss my RX.

I would think that the BMW doesn't drive like an RX would be a plus....

They add an AUX input to pretty much any stock head unit out there. I've used them before with great results. Much better than using a crappy FM modulator or tape deck

How does this work? I found one and it said it's 65$ + 10$ for shipping.

using an fm transmitter isn't the fault of your bmw. there's tons of ways to add a much better aux/bluetooth/apple/usb connector to your car.
if you prefer the way the rx drove vs. the bmw, i guess you weren't really looking for a sporty ride? obviously the two vehicles are COMPLETELY different.
if you prefer the rx ride, then yeah, bought the wrong car, but again, i don't think that's a 'fault' with the bmw.

Im sure he meant in the smoothness of gears and engine. Getting from my 09 C class into my 2002 IS is a very interesting experience. The C is almost better in every measurable way, both in terms of tech and feature. But the other way, I drove the IS and was thinking how smooth the transmission was. From gears 1-3, the C class has hard gear changes. Engine noise in the Merc is much more grainy and unrefined, compared to the 2JZ

Well, there's plenty of good used and CPO RX models on the market (and, of course, brand new ones if you chose to go that way). Used 3-series models in good condition can bring a decent trade-in value, especially with brand-new ones being less-popular than before because of the less-sporting chassis and electric power steering.

Yea, basically you have to take out your factory radio and ship it to them. It takes them about 2-3 days to finish and then they ship it back to you. The total turnaround time with shipping was about a week and a half. It was well worth the wait considering I can just plug in my phone in and play all my music with direct input. I think they also sell existing units already modified, but they can modify any unit to have the AUX input. Use their contact form and tell them what you want to do and I'm sure they can help you.
