Like I said, "poor man's" BMW . I fully agree, the 2 Series has no business being called a "luxury car", but they will sell a ton of these in Europe, mostly in base model form no less.

Makes you wonder how far BMW is willing to go to insult customers and tarnish their reputation. What's next, will the next-gen base model have crank windows with power windows as an option? ?
Poor mans BMW here would be a 220i if they ever make it lol

It'll sell sure but as we agree. It's really insulting to have such manual features on a car with a luxury badge smh

Yes, whatever it is they're calling it now. Why get a 2 Series when you can get a 4 Series?

if the 4 is like the 3, there will be a million running around...2 will [allegedly] be lighter, faster, better handling. ugly 1 series is pretty rare for me to see.

44K for the M235i IS crazy tho when the 435i is 46K.

Actually the 2006-2011 3 series also came with manual seats standard, at least in 328i guise. I always found that an abomination.

It's worth a look for me. I'm one of those that love coupes, and also don't really care for large cars. A small RWD Coupe with a big motor is very appealing.

They should have made this a fastback/lift back. The sedan like trunk doesn't fit well for such a short car.

The best looking front end in the current BMW lineup, but the tail is not so good. Definitely a much progression compared to the current 1-series.

Disagree on this one. The only thing I like about power seats is memory. Other than that, manual seats are much faster to adjust and of course lots lighter.

So they drop the 1 and come out with 2. Is that because it will make buyers think they're getting twice as much?

Some things you can't adjust manually though like side bolster or articulating seat bavks

The current 3/4 series is not too big of a car. About the largest car I would like. My GS430 was the largest car I wanted. My LS400 was too large. Anyway, the current 3 series is larger than my old E46 330i, so I would welcome smaller BMW cars. You get the same motor, RWD, and a smaller and slightly lighter car. I think that is a win. I personally would still have to see both of them side by side because they are close enough that I would choose whichever one I seem to think looks nicer at the time.

100% true!!!! but $2000 difference in price 235i versus 435i

should be $5000

It's not much cheaper that's for sure, but I don't think of smaller cars necessarily being cheaper or lessor cars. In this case, being that it has the same motor, same basic interior, same basic options, it's really the same car just smaller. Often these smaller cars are much more desirable cars. It just depends on what your are into and where you live.

The new 2 is a big improvement over the 1, but its still awkward at some angles, most notably the rear quarter. I hate that high greenhouse look, one reason why I've always disliked the A4/ MB C Class...

The 4 Series is WAY better looking than this IMHO
