And Bentley and Aston Martin had wings for decades. The Automobile didn't start in 2003 when people started to figure out how to post on the internet. There is a rich history way before that.

KIA hired Audi's designer a couple of years ago. I wonder if he had any input into this design.

As the current Genesis has evolved, the V6 has become the overwhelming choice for power much like in the E350, A6, and 535. It is slightly larger than any of these but should be a reasonable competitor for them. The uprated 5 liter V8 should come close to the performance of these cars with their V8 versions.

I was just saying man...I think all of us on here knows about Aston Martin and Bentley (and even Mini for that matter) but it was the Chrysler that was mentioned to which was the only thing I was replying to. Thanks for the information though .

Sure it will...lol.

Go drive one and report back. It's not a small leap that they would be facing to take that next HUGE step. Dominating in the Tier 2 segment would be a much better propostion for them.

Well those are not my words

Hyundai was caught testing the Genesis side by side with the 5-series and A6. They also say this step will be far greater than the first effort with a focus on driving dynamics so rather than driving one and reporting back we will have to wait a year for reviews.

Your name is Lexus lover but you only post in Hyundai threads. Then you leave out the GS as a car Hyundai is targeting, even though it is by far the most successful Asian RWD luxury sport sedan.

Then you say they are chasing driving dynamics and fail to mention the GS which is the sportiest car in class. So it's clear they are aiming for dull if you say the GS isn't targeted.

love comments like this, trying to put hyundai in what you see as their 'proper' place. damning with faint praise.

hyundai isn't about to stop at some bogus 'tier 2'. the equus wasn't just a one off, either. i expect the next gen equus to give so-called 'tier 1' real heartburn.

the first gen genesis sedan was impressive for a first go, for sure, but obviously lacking in interior style, as well as handling, to compare with the best of germany and japan (or the u.s. like a cadillac cts). the 'R' version was nice, with a honkin' engine, but didn't have the handling credentials to go with it. but at least they're doing it and are learning. and the genesis coupe is of course, about the best bargain coupe out there, but it's not luxurious, which makes it curious that is was named genesis.

regardless of whether they get better or fail, it's exciting for consumers to have so many amazing choices.
