I would assume my Lexus will be relatively reliable until 250k

217k miles and still going strong!! Just the usual maintenance and few common issues experienced by most owners. Great car Photo shoot coming up soon!!! did a little botox for the aging beauty!!! people cannot belive the year or mileage!!!!

Smile 3 high mileage lexuses

Last year I bought a '92 LS400 with 180,000 miles on it - one owner car with full maintenance records for $3,900. Sold it for $1,200 more than I paid. Then I bought '92 SC400 with 176,000 on it, two owners, full maintenance records for $3,650! I still have this one - it's a keeper!. Last week, I bought a 2 owner '91 LS400 with 192,000 miles on it for $2,900! ; again, with full maintenance records The body is like new and so is the interior except for one tear on drivers side bolster. I have done minor maintenance work on all 3 cars and must say that they are really easy to work on. As a result, I'm a Lexus fan and my next vehicles will all be Lexus. These wonderful early 1990's cars are the best bargains out there!

I have a 1999 ES300 coach edition. I bought it last summer from a guy who bought it brand new and had every service record from the dealership. The guy even took it there for oil changes. It now has 115k for miles and is running strong. Got the rear struts replace a couple months ago and will probably need new front struts and tires before winter. Otherwise, its been very solid.

Does any here have a 1999 ES300? How reliable have your cars been? Any tips you want to pass on?

You would probably get better results with this question by posting it in the ES forum.

My parent has 99 ES300 bought brand new, it has roughly 99k miles miles on it right now, and with the exception of a burnt out bulb in the rear lights and the driver door needs a little slam to close tightly, everything is working like it was brand new.

The other day I was backing my mom's ES out of the garage, and on the shift from park into R on a cold start, the car was absolutely smooth, where as on my 2nd gen IS the car will clunk when it is cold... all I gotta say is the ES are SOLID!

I have 229K on my 1991 LS400. It's on its 3rd timing belt, 2nd alternator, 2nd set of shocks, and an OEM starter. I'm getting 18-20MPG as well and it still purrs like a kitten.
