Default 2015 Escalade Interior Revealed

Looks nice, very class competitive. I can still see a few similarities between this and its brethren, but there's a ton of differentiation. LOL @ that column shifter though. They couldn't give Cadillac their own shifter?

Yukon Denali for comparison:

The E class has a column shifter, internez is very quiet about it.... As you stated, interior looks very well done, I can't say I'm head over heels over the new Caddy interior design but they are a step up from the past. Great job GM.

I'm surprised Caddy didn't go with a smaller electronic shifter like some of the MB and BMW's have these days. Unless one of them wouldn't fit the beefy image they are after.

I like having a column shifter, it frees up center console space. Also, a column shifter has been traditional on GM trucks for a long time, no need to change it now as most of their buyers like the column shifter right where it is.

looks very similar, also center stack looks like in ATS... while Escalade is likely going to be 2x the price.

its not bad, but it isnt great either... and this is photoshop with 1000 light sources.

Exactly. Word is it might get one when the 8-speed transmission makes its way into the Escalade in a year or two.

I wasn't debating the usage of a column shifter- I agree it's better for this purpose considering the freed up console space. But when you look at the design of the interior, the column shifter lifted from the previous-gen trucks and shared with the Tahoe/Yukon seems out of place. Like the person above, I'm just surprised they didn't give the Escalade a column shifter similar to what Mercedes uses.

In any event, they did a good job if I'm nitpicking about the column shifter.

Overall pretty elegant. Can't wait to see it in person. Excited to see what the Navigator has in store.

Must we? I think the Escalade deserves its own thread, much like it got its own launch.

that looks like a column shifter that actually requires to be moved to set positions...and its huge. The mercedes one at least is smaller and more elegant in function.

Not to mention, the Mercedes one isn't the same one you get in a Silverado regular cab with no options.

That Escalade interior is quite nice!

That Denali steering wheel makes me LOL... looks like a midget tied to a hula-hoop.
