Plus its a car based weenie mobile, the old Cherokee of the 80's/90's had a real off-road setup that you could play around with and easily upgrade. Straight six motor, transfer case you shifted with a lever, very simple solid axles front and back, great approach/departure angles.

what the heck is that thing in the pic?

certainly looks weird in that pic! a little better here with different bumper:

edit: i guess the white one is this 'trailhawk' version, and white's always the color likeliest to make a design look bad, just as black makes it look best.

and checking out the specs and pricing on that cherokee, pretty amazing!

you can get adaptive cruise, heated/cooled seats, remote start, nav and tons of other features in a car for $34k list.

Yep, and you also get in bonus that ugly front end. I am sorry but that is simply fugly at best. What did the stylist think?

Its a common evolution to the same vehicle. BMW wants to soften their cars and Lexus wants to inspire. I think in the end we will all be driving the same car from different brands in about 40 years

I think its a great write up and I will admit that I do notice what he is talking about. People only complain because they love their familiar car BUT evolution will not stop and they do need to get the hell over it

Yup the domestic manufacturers give a lot for the money and the reliability on the JC has been much better since 06-07 MY
