Default has anybody dealt with Allstate Insurance on a claim?

from my other thread -- https://www.clublexus.com/forums/car...ed-or-not.html

I have claim against Allstate -- the car is already at an OEM dealer repair shop (Sewell) and they (Sewell) want me to sign this....

Labor Rate Difference Authorization
I, _________________________________________, understand that the insurance company ______________________ that is paying for the repairs to the vehicle I have
requested Sewell to repair, may refuse or has refused to pay for any difference in Sewell’s
posted prevailing rates. The minimum accepted rate from an insurance company for Sewell
Collision is Body $44, Paint $44, Frame $50, Mechanical $110 and Material’s $30 in dollars per
hour. I understand that the insurance company will not pay the posted rates therefore I will have
to pay the shop the remainder balance.
how is Allstate about covering the additional $$???

see Allstate labor rates below.....

From my past experience dealing with Allstate, I have never had to sign anything like that. You are supposed to be able to take the car to any body shop of your choice. It is then Allstate's job to negotiate labor rates. You are not supposed to pay anything to the body shop except for your deductible.

Same here, and I wasn't even the person covered by AllState, it was the other person's insurance who hit me.

That is a dealer thing. $110/hour? They hire lawyer & doctor to do the job???

I will never sign such thing. Its the same BS thing the service manager try to pull few buck from you.

If they refuse, I will just pay the storage fee and tow it to another shop. 99% of dealer don't do their own body work, they sub-contract to collision shop.

That form is BS, talk to Allstate about it. I have never had to pay anything but my deductable and nor should you. Although, I will say the office claims department at Allstate are a bunch of idiots, but my field person was good.
