Somewhere in Cali a GTR lost control and rolled down a hill. a C63 stopped to help. The C63s brakes were so hot they caught the brush on fire and the rest is history....

holy unfortunate series of events.

Could it be they were racing, thats why the GTR crashed and why the C63's brakes were so hot.

Wow, I've heard of the hot cats causing brush fires but not the brakes. Too bad.

Not so fast. First two photos don't match at all. Car is burning/burnt in two different locations. Then, the background, land, and flames all look fake. Also, not a shred of black left on the "white" car? I'd think a little black paint would still be somewhere.
Is there a link to the story?

could be the catalytic converter on the exhaust system that was the ignition source

i think the GTR is so capable that you can often be lulled into a false sense of confidence. With my M5 the RWD setup with close to 600hp makes it a more challenging drive so you are constantly aware that you can kill yourself, so you naturally handle it with appropriate care.

All super cars tend to give that feeling of defying physics. Its been said over and over again that the GTR spits in the face of physics but physics always wins.

Why the hell would you go canyon carving when there are no guard rails ??

Very unfortunate, both are beautiful cars and it sucks to see them destroyed

And, that's one reason why ceramic brakes are either standard or optional on some very high-performance cars. They resist heat build-up better than steel.
