2014 Mercedes Benz S-class
After the acclaimed long distance autonomous test drive following the Bertha Benz route, Mercedes-Benz now tests in the US. There are a lot of similarities to German traffic, but there are also some differences. Thus the S 500 INTELLIGENT DRIVE has to attend driving school.
Believe it or not W220 sales weren't ever bad. The update in 2003 really helped what was a disappointing start quality-wise. The W220 did have good driving dynamics and new to the market tech after all...maybe the only thing that saved it. Those were not good times.
back to w222, this car is killing me, i keep looking at it every day and i see so many of them on the road now
don't think it makes sense for me to own one at all, maybe i just get another w221 for now

For those talking about v6 luxury.... What you want is a smooth swell of acceleration . The unrefined smaller motors send all kinds of noise and vibration into the cabin because they need to be revved hard. King of like driving a 4 cylinder and having a v6. It's not that ye small motor is slow, it just feels unrefined and like it being pushed .... Hard

I saw an all black S63 AMG today and almost died of jealousy. It honestly wouldn't make any sense for me to own one either but I want it badly. Looked like this:
gosh, WHY, WHY did you post this!!!!!! i saw a s63 last week too and i couldn't stop staring at it...!!!!!
222 is everywhere now, saw a white 63 the other day, thank god I am not into it, the exterior is kinda bleh to me, it look fresh but not hot, I don't dig it. I guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I am starting to dig the 221............maybe is because I like cheap stuff.............but then I am crazy about the LaFerrari, so there goes that theory..........lol

I actually like the front and rear end of the 222, but I like the pronounced fender flare of the 221, it look unique and sporty.
I used to think the pronounced fender flare is inappropriate on a S-Class when the 221 came out, but now I like it.
It is funny everyone have different taste and it changes with time too.

to me the weak point of the w222 is still the taillights, somehow they look a bit little especially since now the trunk lines slopes down. but overall i do think w222 is better than w221
i do know few people who prefers the w221 coz' of the bolder fender flare lines, which are exactly what i don't care much about the generation.
w221 tech is definitely outdated, but with mb i am always hesitant on the depreciation. getting a new car and its value falls off the cliff faster than anything and i am a bit more conscious about my money than that. w221 price is still falling but it is at a much better value now. and the idea of s63 isn't bad at all too
