Had a bad flood recently and the Bentley got flooded. I went to look at it today. Here's what left of it. Looks like it has been in the sea! It's my neighbors, he is getting a '13 to replace it.
Wait for ir to show up on eBay. "Pristine Bentley, garage queen, never seen rain. Reason for selling: upgraded to a 2013 Bentley".
You aren't far off. It will go to an insurance auction like copart for the insurance company to recoupe some of its loss, then 1 of 3 things will occur:
1)it will be parted out;
2)it will be steam cleaned, have the carpet replaced & engine rebuilt then...
a)shipped overseas and sold to an unsuspecting buyer
b)have it's title washed to clear the flood/total loss & sold stateside to an unsuspecting buyer
3)It will be refurbed on the cheap & enter limo service until it begins to become more trouble than it's worth, then sold as either a or b above.
Someone at Bentley should just buy the car back from the insurance company, strip it down, rebuild the interior and offer it back to the market at an attractive "certified pre-owned" price. Keeps the car out of the shady market, where it could do more damage to the brand depending on where it ends up.
The electrics in that car will never be right again. It should be scrapped, its doors, hood, quarters, trunk lid, wheels, suspension parts, etc can live on in somebody else's wrecked Bentley.
