Haha they all come in thinking the Mustang is a blunt instrument only to find it's sharp as a scalpel

The New Attitude of Detroit Muscle

PLYMOUTH, Mich. (Sept 29, 2015) –ROUSH® Performance adds some attitude to a freshly redesigned Ford Mustang. Built on the Blue Oval's 6th generation Detroit icon, ROUSH performance is excited to debut its aggressive new 2015 lineup. "We have taken a different approach to our new Stage lineup." states Jay Velthoven, Director of Marketing at ROUSH Performance. "The 2015 RS will be built on the Mustang's V6 platform, the Stage 1 will feature the new turbo-charged Ford 2.3L Eco-Boost motor, and the Stage 2 will showcase a naturally aspirated 5.0L V8."

All of the 2015 ROUSH Mustangs receive the "R7" (7th generation) aero-body package giving this pony some major attitude. The face of the "R7″ aero-body package features a fully remodeled ROUSH fascia with integrated aero-pockets, a five-blade upper grille, high-flow lower grille with driving lamps, and a front chin splitter. "We worked closely with our race teams aero specialists as we modeled our new body components." says Mark Trostle, Lead Designer for ROUSH. "It's instantly noticed on the rear with the raceinspired lower aero-valance and a new one piece decklid spoiler. We also tied the whole aero package together with a set of side rocker canards."

Along with the aggressive new look, the Stage 1 and Stage 2 get the new ROUSH quad-tip performance exhaust system. "The new quad-tip exhaust is a modular design that is set to accept future upgrades." Says Erin Dmytrow, Engineering Director for ROUSH Performance. "We are working on some exciting features that will be available later this year."

The ROUSH Mustangs also gets a handling boost thanks to the optional suspension setups and new Quicksilver 20-inch ROUSH wheels – wrapped in the ROUSH/Cooper (co-developed) RS3-S ultra high-performance tire.

Inside the cabin, every ROUSH Mustangs will receive ROUSH embroidered floor mats and a serialized ROUSH dash badge. Optional ROUSH gauge cluster and leather seating upgrades are available for both the standard seat and the upgraded RECARO seats.

Additionally, the ROUSH Stage Mustangs have several exterior and interior options available including side quarter window scoops, body side scoop, hood scoop and more.

All 2015 ROUSH "Stage" Mustangs will first be available in manual coupes with convertible chassis and automatic transmissions to follow at a later date. They are also all 50-state legal and covered by ROUSH's 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. The 2015 ROUSH Mustangs are expected to start showing up on dealer lots by mid October 2014.

Is a four-cylinder engine enough for an American muscle car?

Default Hennessey unleashes 2015 HPE700 supercharged Ford Mustang

Texas-tuned HPE700 Mustang has firepower to battle Corvette Z06 & SRT Hellcat

Sealy, Texas- Hellcat and Z06, be very afraid. Because when that 2015 Mustang 5.0L with the Hennessey script on its decklid sidles up next to you at the stoplight, it might very well be packing 717 supercharged horsepower. Dig the spurs in, pilgrim, and she'll bolt to 60 mph in a scant 3.6 seconds. Keep your foot down, and the pressurized Coyote 5.0-liter 4-cammer will blaze to a white-hot 11.2-second quarter mile at 131 mph. It's ponycar meets supercar.

"We're very excited about the 2015 Ford Mustang and so are our performance-minded clients," said John Hennessey. "Our HPE700 Supercharged upgrade will elevate this Motown Missile's performance to rival some of the fastest European sports cars. We can't wait to share our specially tuned Mustang with the world!"

"This thing is uncaged, absolutely nuts," says Hennessey partner Don Goldman. "We're thrilled to offer a 2015 Mustang that will outperform some of the fastest cars currently offered, at a lower price point."

Key to that 717 bhp (and the HPE700's deep well of torque-632 lb-ft at 4400 rpm) is the Roots-type high-helix supercharger packing 7.25 psi of boost. Helping the Coyote V8 breathe more deeply is a high-flow throttle body and stainless-steel exhaust system. Upgraded injectors and fuel pump help feed the V8, under command of Hennessey's proprietary engine management calibration.

Just 500 units of the HPE700 will be produced for the 2015 Mustang model year. Pricing starts at $59,500 USD including the base 2015 5.0L Mustang GT. But greater personalization and performance can be had by adding options such as CarbonAero carbon-fiber bodywork (front splitter, side sills, rear diffuser and rear lip spoiler), 20-in. Hennessey H10 wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Super Sport 2 tires, and a Brembo brake package with 15.1-in. front rotors. As a package, they give the Mustang improved downforce, cornering and braking to keep pace with the colossal supercharged power.

New 2015 Hennessey Mustangs can be ordered through any of AutoNation's 37 Ford dealerships across America. A high-performance upgrade for the 2.3-liter EcoBoost-powered Mustang is also under development.

The sixth generation Mustang is radically different than the versions that preceded it. But when it comes to icons like the Mustang, change is a risky business. Has Ford elevated or spoiled its pony car? KBB’s Micah Muzio finds out in this video.

The new Ford Mustang is coming to the UK in right-hand drive form and with a four-cylinder engine. What's it like?

Default Ford Training Dealership Staff to Properly Sell Turbo'd Mustang

It won’t be hard to pitch the new Ford Mustang to buyers: it looks great, is improved in every single notable way and it can be had with either a V6 or a V8.

However, what dealers may have problems with is making a case for the four-pot turbo Mustang, a car that needs to pipe fake thrumming into the cabin to sound appropriate.

Melanie Banker, Mustang marketing manager put it simply: "The EcoBoost engine is a whole new proposition that we don't have today," and well, people just aren’t accustomed to it. She did say, though, that through clever use of ads, they can steer buyers’ opinions in the right direction - "People look forward to Mustang advertising. It's usually pretty fun. We're selling dreams."

However, it’s not only the turbo that will be a departure for Mustang sellers and buyers, since it also now offers tech that was previously unheard of in the range.

Stuff like “adaptive cruise control, a blind spot warning system, MyFord Touch, a standard rearview camera, rain sensitive windshield wipers and a set of toggle switches to adjust the driving mode electronically,” says Automotive News. It adds that in order to ensure there are no problems, Ford is organizing special training for dealership staff. Currently around 65 percent complete, it was started in July.

In America, at least, we’ll have to see just how much of a slice the 2.3-liter will carve for itself, out of the entire Mustang sales pie chart, especially since it’s not the entry level choice like we speculated before Ford made it official. For the old model, some 60 percent of sales were V6-engined cars, and various V8s made up the difference. Dealers should begin receiving big lots of new Mustangs in mid-October.

This week on Ignition, presented by Universal Technical Institute, Carlos Lago drives the first turbo, four-cylinder Mustang in three decades: the EcoBoost. Featuring 310 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque, this Mustang should easily outpace the V-6 and, with half the cylinders, it also boasts less weight over the front end than the GT. Add in a performance package and – finally – independent rear suspension, and this Mustang should prove a lot of fun. Through Motor Trend’s instrumented testing, a visit to Universal Technical Institute’s dyno, a drive on the road, and a Hot Lap, we’ll find out if the EcoBoost has what it takes. Stay tuned for more on the GT.

Interesting... Camaro seems preferable to drive by a long shot!

Still not quite a fan of the Mustang's design based on pics/video... some parts look bland, others overstyled. I'm waiting to see one in person though.

285 sticky rubber on all 4 corners vs 255 front/275 rear, no surprise here.
