It certainly isn't the first time somebody pumped gasoline into a diesel's tank, but this time it was expensive. President Obama's limo, "The Beast", that appears to be a Cadillac limo is actually a plus-size Caddy built on a Chevy Kodiak truck chassis and sporting a diesel engine. Too bad nobody took time to add the "Diesel Only" placards to the fuel flap. Now they're flying a backup Beast to Israel for the President. You know that is going to be expensive too.



Thankfully, it wouldn't start, preventing serious consequences for the diesel's moving parts, but the fuel pump, usually lubricated by the diesel fuel may be gone. It's going to require a teardown and inspection at least, plus a flush of the fuel system. Our resident warrior/mechanic, Josh (ArmyofOne) can probably speak with great authority on this foul-up . . . I imagine this happens in the Army all the time when a soldier is told to go fill up a vehicle that isn't fool-proofed in some manner.

That or they need to start installing placards in the local language when they take The Beast overseas. Maybe "סולר בלבד" would have prevented this mishap.

Also look at how tall that thing is. The president is a good 6', you know those secret service guys are at least that tall and built like a brick ****house. Looks like those huge dudes are opening a bank vault door.

You don't really get a good sense of scale on how MASSIVE this thing is on tv.

Also not the first time they've had a mishap with the presidential limo.


I don't think it got high centered, I think the air suspension gave out.

It's not so much the physical size or strength in those SS guys that gives them their punch...it's the stuff they carry (tasers, stun-guns, and all kinds of small-arms).

Of course. It has essentially military-grade armor on it...plus bulletproof glass.

Yup, that duramax engine has a High Pressure Common Rail fuel system. And with the modern systems, the tolerances are very low. These are very precise pieces of equipment, and even a little gasoline or water in the system can completely ruin the pump and injectors, often to the tune of over $10k.

But this has some truth, the same people who can't even fill up a car properly, and some want them in control of other things? Asking for trouble. Tax payers pay once again for the stupidity of those around Obama....
