Thanks spwolf. I missed this in CL and posted it in the GS4 forum. I will need to start following the Car Chat forum more regularly.

If it's the V8 in the IS-F, this car won't be very impressive; that motor is just not impressive. There's a reason the M5/M6 doesn't share a powerplant with the M3. Bump it up to 500hp+, then we have a discussion.

Where I feel Lexus missed the boat is that they do not have the F-Sport package for the GS450h in the US.
Totally agree. The 450h f sport would have been my car but without the f sport, it was not even a consideration solely because I didn't want to miss the f sport suspension computer upgrades... The bushings and sways are easy enough to deal with but the uprated programming is a problem.

I sometimes find myself wondering if the hybrid would have been better for all the city driving I do, then take a couple corners and all doubt is gone =)

Its a very impressive motor. 0-60 on par with the M3, it is super reliable and has a ton of torque compared to the competition. It also is the only car in its class that avoids the gas guzzler tax. Lotus planned to use it on their next round of cars with forced induction from 500-650hp.

The Germans going boosted will always have a HP advantage. What Lexus/Toyota has been excelling at is being the complete drivers car even if it is down on power.
