Mazda having best sales in 21 years.
While, granted, these figures are company-supplied from their own American web-site and are aimed primarily at the auto-press, they still show a distinct pattern of recent success, and, I felt, were credible enough to post. We all know that the Mazda3 and Mazda6 have done well (on the road, I've seen a distinct increase lately in their numbers in my area). The Miata, however, seems to be declining.....perhaps because an all-new one, about to be unveiled, is taking some attention from the present one.

Always good to see when a carmaker that goes it's own way, doesn't blend in with the crowd and still emphasizes the sporty side of driving is well-received. Good for Mazda!

You might not believe this, Mike, given some of my tastes today, but I drove Mazda sedans exclusively from the mid-1980s to the mid 1990s. (I owned three of them). By that time, I had had enough of lemon after lemon from GM and Chrysler, and, IMO, it was time to do something about it.

I just bought a '15 CX-5.
Great tech items bang for the buck.Very nice handling and ride too.2 seconds faster 0-60 than the '13 CR-V we had.
Infotainment not great and a low but still love the vehicle.
Keyless entry/push button start
HIDs w/AFS
Bose sound system
Rain sensing wipers
8 way power seat
Blind spot monitor
Rear parking sensors
19" wheels
Smart City Brake Support system uses a laser sensor to detect stationary objects (such as stopped cars or pedestrians) in front of the vehicle at speeds up to 19 mph. If the driver fails to respond to a warning, the CX-5 can automatically apply the brakes.
For under $31K with discount and 0% financing.

Congratulations.
The CR-V is not as sport-oriented as the CX-5. Never was. In general, though, it's hard to beat the reliability of the CR-V.
How long a term was that 0% good for? Some firms will five you a free loan, but only for very short terms. Take out anything beyond a year or two and you will pay more.

We'll see how long they can continue to develop cars and go it alone without major support/co-development. Would love to see them do well. They're getting critical acclaim, but their sales overall are still fairly small.

Up to 5 years.Maybe 6?
Yes the reliability of the CR-V may be better but the wife only does about 8k miles per and we usually don't keep a vehicle a long time.
Thanks,Bob!
