He has been my best friend since kindergarden and I have 4 years invested in my relationship with my GF so its highly unlikely I wouldn't see us breaking up over her calling my choice feminine... Plus she drives in like grandma mode, I had to show her the potential of it...

I'm not necessarily saying to break up with or disown them......but just realize that what they are telling you are classic automotive masculine/feminine stereotypes, not necessarily fact. I've seen this kind of stuff go on over many years........even decades ago when I was your age, and dealt with it myself. Several of my high/school/college friends, for example, laughed when I had two Buicks before the age of 20 (the usual "Old-Man's" car stuff). But guess what...I liked them both, and, looking back today some 40 years later, I wouldn't have done it any differently. (I also, BTW, in perspective, had a much sportier and more youth-oriented Plymouth Barracuda in college)

If you have the money, and it seems like you do, I would suggest taking a high-performance driving course like Bondurant or Skip Barber.
You might find improving the driver is more fun than improving the car. You might also get some more ideas on what kind of car to get. You might learn some good driving habits and skills.

The Range, I heard that the SC version is actually really reliable because of its aluminum engine block and internals...

Good idea man, do you think if I show my insurance guy the certificate that they give at the end of the course, my insurance would be lower on a performance car??? Like on an IS-F or something, my brother used let me drive his until it got totaled in a really bad accident, he hit rock during rush hour and it tore up everything that came in its way on the underside...
Sorry to hear about your brother's F.
