Will the NX hybrid be the LF-CC or a CUV?

Edit: Since it includes a X in the designation it will most likely be a CUV...

Not surprised by the name change from the speculated "CX". There was no way CX would fly with Mazda that already has the CX-5. After hearing the 2017 expectation date, I'm surprised to see things moving along faster with a trademark filing.

Interesting, so that vehicle is due within the 6-30 months for sure then, as all Lexus trademarks have been filed within that time frame. The GS460 trademark was filed as early as November 2004 and that barely got introduced in 2007. The IS200 was an all-new model in March 1999 and got filed in November '97, so I'm guessing a similar pattern for the NX with an early 2014 on sale date.

Toyota said that vehicle with 2.0T is coming out in 2014... so this must be it.

I was also hoping for IX to go with GX and LX, which also goes with GS and LS.

I'm curious what the N will stand for.

RX - Recreational Crossover
GX - Grand Crossover
LX - Luxurious Crossover

NX - Newest Crossover?

The X stands for Cross Country, not crossover.

You are correct. On the Lexus of Australia website it does state cross country as oppose to crossover. I guess in the U.S. we tend to use crossover.

Just think of it as a smaller RX, which has no sedan name equivalent.

I think this will be a hot, sporty, small crossover just like the CT is a hot little hatchback, especially with that turbo!
