MT-Your Say: Top 10 New Car Headlight Designs
We’ve seen plenty of aftermarket headlight replacements, but nothing can top a solid, OEM headlight design. Headlight technology has progressed rapidly, with HID and LED options vastly increasing possibilities for designers, and since headlights are such an important part of a car’s styling, we’re highlighting some well-executed examples in this post.
In a recent Thread of the Day post, we asked readers which new cars had the best headlight designs. From your suggestions, we’ve selected our top 10 favorites — read all the original picks in the Thread of the Day post here.

The new Lexus headlights are getting better and better........and my more and more cars getting LED headlamps and HID Xenon lamps.
Who the hell needs Halgoen bulbs in this day-and-age?
P.S.
With that said, the Audi headlamps are sort of a trendsetter...............especially with their extensive use of Daytime Running Lamps.............even way before the DRL requirement became an EU law mandate

Can't wait to see the LS in person.

Audi's LED accent lighting was so unique when it came out but when you have Kia's and Hyundai's with options for the same thing it gets played out IMO.
Happen to drive by a newer LS460 last week and noticed the headlights were the newer all LED system.
It looked so different (in a good way).
Boy it doesn't seem that long ago when HID was all the rage and $1,000 options on luxury cars.

The facelifted Audi A4 and A5, along with the new A6 have the most dramatic and modern DRL's in my opinion. The previous A4/A5 design was too bright and deliberate-looking, but did jumpstart the industry.
LED DRL's that are in a tube (continuous), rather than the silly individual bulbs is where the trend is now. Some manufacturers are getting it, others are not. Lexus is catching up quickly, but the CT's "missing bulb in the center" is a fail in my book.

Really? Someone else noticed this? IT DRIVES ME CRAZY! How could any designer not think it looks like a burned out section? All you have to do is see it head-on from 100 feet and it's plain to see.
I was going to start a post on this, but figured someone else had already covered it.

Yes, the gold car. When it's lit and seen from a bit back, the spot below the headlight looks out. Photo above doesn't really show it.
