None really. Lets face it, cars of this caliber are bought for status and bragging rights. More money than brains kind of people but them (and race them on the street rather than track). Most enthusiasts will probably spend most of their life trying to purchase just one. More likely so a used one to boot

Let's be honest here. It needs it.
AWD is quickly becoming the future of most hardcore performance cars for a very good reason: to put all that power down. Current AMGs are pretty hard to control in a drag race because the rear wheels cannot effectively put all that power to the ground. The whole system and the tires just cannot cope with that insane amount of power.
Also, most buyers won't be driving these cars on the track and most won't really care about over- or understeer.

B/C the HARDER solution is "Less weight, less power, keep RWD". Instead the easy method is "more weight, more power, add AWD".
Doesn't take a genius to add more power, add AWD, boom faster car. It does take a special group and car to have less power, RWD and a more INVOLVING car.
I do agree though I guess they are all 4500 lbs cars so most don't care about involving, weight etc. They want more hp and to talk smack about it.
Its simply amazing to see these cars perform at the track or drag strip. These are full blown luxury sedans!

Which is why I applaud the new direction that Lexus and Toyota are going with their RWD sporty offerings : more purist, more in keeping with the true intent of keen drivers.
That is : keep weight down, linear throttle reponse of NA engines, focus on driver engagement rather than just the magazine bench racing of skidpad grip or 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. In short eschewing what looks good on paper ( a la the Germans) in favor of what the human driver can truly feel and appreciate.

Sorry but I don't applaud Lexus lack luster effort on bringing more engine options to the market to compete with the Germans. If Lexus want continue to play with the big boys they got continue to move forward. You can’t just keep selling RX & ES to the masses. I think the hold going hybrid idea for Lexus is a great idea. They should make a mpg hybrid and hp hybrid for every rwd model. IMO who cares how something drives or if it lose a little handling if your 10 cars back. My next 2 cars are going to probably be an IS250 & CL63 or S63.
You see the huge different, Lexus for mpg & Benz for power. Why can’t that be an SC55? Yummy.
