Default Thoughts on a 1991 toyota Mr2 as a daily driver?

Ok guys I am going to give my is350 some rest after driving 8000 miles in 3 months for work/vacation. My friend is selling me an mr2 for a good deal and just needs rack n pinion done along with new shocks/paint job.

It is a 1991 and has over 200,000 miles on body/chassis but it used to be a turbo and previous owner swapped it out to an N/A so I dont know how much the engine has.

I drive 80-100 miles a day for work so what do you guys think of this mr2 as a daily driver?

Why not ? You will save a bit on gas for one, just make sure everything works and is up to date. Only thing is if you are expecting heavy rain, use the IS350..

I have a 91 non turbo, it's a fun car and somwhat comfortable. But I wouldn't wanna use it for daily, just whenever I feel like driving a stick and don't mind getting sweaty in our 100+ degree heat ( ac is too weak )

It's a good DD, but not the most practical. I used my 91 turbo for 2 years and it was comfortable IMO. It will be noiser than most cars and if you dont mind the engine noise from the back then you will ok.

Friend of mine has a Turbo 91. Drives it alternating days. Loves it, very low maintenance

I'd daily drive one. They look too cool to pass up.

It'd be a cool substitute, but after giving your IS a break I think it should go back to being the DD, and the MR2 should be the toy!

do it....daily drivers are nice to have...put as many miles as you want with no worries....BUT as another poster said, make sure its in good working order or you will hate it and it'll become too much of a hassle.
