Arrest Warrant Issued for Motorcyclist hitting up to 186 MPH on public roads (video)

The hunt for a motorcyclist who raced through four Greater Victoria municipalities in April at speeds reaching 299 km/h appears to be nearing an end.
Randy George Scott, 25, was charged Tuesday with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and an arrest warrant was issued.
But police have not located Scott and no date has not been set for his first court appearance.
In April, Saanich police seized a blue Yamaha R1 sport bike and launched a search for the driver after an online video of the bike weaving in and out of traffic on the Trans-Canada Highway at speeds reaching almost 300 km/h went viral.
The bike's owner, who is Scott's mother, was issued tickets totalling $1,449, including $368 for driving without due care and attention, $483 for excessive speed and $598 for having no insurance.
Saanich police Sgt. Dean Jantzen said Scott was under suspicion from the outset but there was insufficient evidence earlier in the investigation to proceed with charges.
The attention generated by the case helped police, Jantzen said, since multiple witnesses came forward.
"That was pared down to three critical witnesses that our officers felt provided the best information," he said. "That was information that connected the rider to the bike to the incident."
Jantzen said people were understandably shocked and outraged by the video, which had been viewed 223,000 times.
"This is an egregious example of someone who really is disregarding all norms of traffic safety," he said.
From CNN: Saanich police say if convicted on the current charges, he could be sentenced up to five years in jail.

Let this be a warning to the speed demons here on Club Lexus who openly boast about their "kill stories" racing cars at > 90-100 MPH on public roads.

It looks like, from the black-and-white T-shirt and Iron Cross he's wearing, that he might (?) be a biker-gang member, although the fact that his mom owns the bike makes that unlikely. Still, if by chance he is a classic tough-guy biker, those cops might be in for more than they bargained for.

Problem is, if one of the cars wandered out of their lane or changed lanes, he'd probably be dead.
And it would create a big traffic back up.
He might not care but it would stay with the driver a long long time.

this is like that Supra TT vs Ford rally car through some Euro city (swiss?) they even hired a helicopter to film the underground hit... did the police ever catch those two, big hoopla
this guy and his Ed Hardy shirt look dbagish, but his bike skills give him street cred... cops just hate sport bikes because they are always getting ditched, in high school a bunch of us used to run from the cops and only one ever got caught (BMW bike cop caught him up the 15 in Temecula).

LOL you're thinking about Getaway in Stockholm 2. Big difference. That was done in the wee hours of the morning with practically zero traffic on the road, whereas this idiot was at way higher speeds right through fairly thick traffic. Little to no public safety risk for GIS2, vs huge risk in this stunt. Only speaking for the Supra vs Ford Escort Cosworth one though. I know there were a whole bunch of Getaway in Stockholm videos...

There's a warrant out for his arrest right now but he hasn't turned himself in and authorities don't know exactly where he is, so he hasn't been brought in yet.

Then I completely disagree with your assessment. "Little to no public safety risk?" Really? They're racing at speeds in excess of 100 MPH on public roads with other cars around. Sure, there was less traffic, but I think you're obfuscating the street racing epidemic by callously downplaying the risk.

Yea, I see no skills there. Stupidity. Suicidal. No skills. This kid will die on a bike, proving there were no skills in the first place.
