Lexus make us proud. The LFA was such an amazing project. The more I see the LFA and learn about its design you truly realize that this car is not just the "real deal"....Its one of the greatest cars to have ever been designed . There is nothing in the history of all street cars that has even sounded like the LFA

Code X must mean something, so hopefully leads to a new LFA type project. But according to the PR the engine size increase is to better suit the N24 race. Sure looks awesome though.

That twice the price rumor was just some wild speculation by some guy out of the blue, there is nothing that backs it up so far what so ever.
This 5.3L car could very well be just a design study/engineering exercise, or just a side effort to go racing with LFA leftover spare parts because Akio wanted to.
There won't be another LFA type exotic car from Toyota for another 40 years if you ask me.
2000GT was created to show the world Toyota can compete with the best of the world when Toyota was a nobody. LFA was created to celebrate their 1st F1 effort. There must be a significant reason for Toyota to make another exotic model.

Gazoo Racing’s Lexus LFA Code X Hits The Track: Video
Lexus has been competing in the gruelling Nürburgring 24 Hours endurance race with its LFA supercar since 2008, back when it was still a prototype, and even though production ceased in 2012 versions of the car are still being developed for motorsport use. The latest is the Lexus LFA Code X, which was developed together with Gazoo Racing and will compete in this year’s Nürburgring 24 Hours endurance race.
As previously reported, the LFA Code X gets a 5.3-liter V-10, up from the 4.8-liter unit in the regular LFA. No output has been stated, but the engine’s peak power and torque are said to have been fine-tuned to better suit the Nürburgring course. Drive still goes to the rear wheels, via a sequential manual gearbox with paddle shifters.
The unique race car also features a full carbon fiber monocoque, which has been implemented to boost rigidity while reducing weight. In addition to this, it comes with 18-inch light alloys shod with Bridgestone tires measuring up to 330/40 in size.
This year’s Nürburgring 24 Hours runs from June 21-22. The LFA Code X will be running in the SP8 class for production-based cars with naturally aspirated engines displacing more than 4.0 liters.

Lexus LFA Wins Class in 4-Hour VLN2 Race at Nürburgring
The Lexus LFA team of Kino****a Takayuki & Oshima Kazuya finished the second race of the 2014 Nürburgring VLN Series with a SP8 class win, placing 18th overall.
The IS F team that won the first race of the season at the beginning April finished 3rd in the SP8 class and placed 40th overall.

Lexus LFA Code X Race Car Testing on Fuji Speedway
The Lexus LFA Code X race car had its final test at the Fuji Speedway in Japan before being shipped to Germany for the Nürburgring 24 Hour Race in June — Gazoo Racing posted some photos on Facebook:
