E90 M3 is a good choice. I have a few friends with it and they haven't had problems with it. I was planning on getting an m3 but got a 650i vert instead since I already had a 335i. White with red interior m3's look amazing! Try to find one of those.

a lot of people look at the paper spec and say the m3 tq is low. granted you need higher rev (as in 1k rpm max) but punch the m3 in the right gear and it's still quite an experience. i have demo'd it to quite a few people and they all asked me "seriously they said the car ONLY has 270tq?"
especially if you are interested in the 6 speed, which means you avoid all the question marks on the dct, the engine itself is very good. unlike the 335, have fun with HPFP
it always amaze me that most people don't know that engines are not directly linked to wheels...Originally Posted by rominl
335 is nice but though it's fast on straight line, it's nothing like m when it comes to driving dynamics. if you remotely push the car you will know. i like the 335, drove quite a few of them, but never felt very excited. my m3 was still exciting the day i returned it. the 335 doesn't handle bad but stock to stock it doesn't come close to m3. just the steering turning ratio alone the m3 is much better.a lot of people look at the paper spec and say the m3 tq is low. granted you need higher rev (as in 1k rpm max) but punch the m3 in the right gear and it's still quite an experience. i have demo'd it to quite a few people and they all asked me "seriously they said the car ONLY has 270tq?"

the wheel torque (force you experience) times wheel speed (speed you going) = horsepower @ at that moment. (granted, horsepower = engine torque X rpm, but with transmission, you RPM can be controlled). with high HP (like M3) you can create more "punch" than a high torque but low HP car.

my feeling is lexus is still overall more reliable, but their quality imho dropped too. GS, IS, LS, i see problems in all of themQuote:

hehe sometimes people just have to find ways to discount a car i guess Originally Posted by seanlee

imho, m3 is a car people should drive in order to understand why it's good and why it's worth the extra money over the 335.You tested the M3 now go test an IS-F then come back here and let us know.

^^^ I would also be interested in that opinion. Comparing an IS350 to a M3 is not really fair, now that IS - F burns out tires quickly as well.

I've had my e46 m3 for almost three years now without any problem(knock on wood). I'd definitely like to upgrade to a e90 m3 but I still want to enjoy my current m3 for the time being. The ISF is a nice looking car but IMO, it looks a little too boy racer for my taste. However, the downside on owning a m3 is that maintenance is expensive.

...believe me, it will give you some peace of mind. I bought a used 2001 Porsche Boxster w/21K miles that I was constantly worried about it...only kept it a few months (I read some horror stories).
