Porsche driver busted for using toothpaste to alter license plate
Porsche driver busted for using toothpaste to alter license plate A Chinese Porsche Boxster driver is in trouble for using toothpaste to avoid the law. The owner used the cavity-preventing goo to change the 1s on his license plates to 7s. This ended up attracting the attention of Qingdao police, who thought the 7s didn't look right. The owner will be able to reflect on his mistake over some long walks: he was fined 2,200 yuan ($349 USD) and got six points taken off his licence. Since he only had six points left to give, he won't be driving for a while. http://www.autoblog.com/2012/03/03/p...-license-plat/ ___ yeah... its a slow news day :p |
Here in the U.S., simply pulling someone's license often doesn't actually stop him or her from driving. A significant number of police traffic-stops find that the person they just pulled-over is illegally behind the wheel. In China, though, it may be a different matter.....over there, when the government or police tell you to do (or not do) something, they mean it. Thumbing your nose at the law over there can bring serious consequences. :eek2:

I just saw a 2012 new Acura MDX with dealer plates with a residential parking permit being stuck on the side bumper. He/She clearly wrote it the license plate number on the parking permit. I bet he's using the dealer plates to avoid red light photographed intersections...

^ A lot of people run the dealer plates far beyond when they actually get the plates in the mail.
As far as I know, its only a fix it ticket if your pulled over and the cop realizes you don't have your plates on so some people don't really care. |
I guess he should have used colgate instead of crest..?
