2013 Ford Escape (on Ford's website)
Looking good...
more here: http://www.ford.com/suvs/escape/2013/ interesting note: Take your choice of the available 1.6L EcoBoost I-4 engine or the available 2.0L EcoBoost engine. A 2.5L I-4 engine is standard. http://www.ford.com/resources/ford/e...convenient.jpg |
after seeing that superbowl ad for the cr-v, i went to look at its features.
5 speed auto no push button start this escape has 6 speed auto push button start power lift gate available hids arguably better looks... |
I see they stopped making it in a Hybrid. That is too bad as it was a very nice little unit.

So there is really an question if new Escape and new Fusion, both looking A LOT better cars than previous ones, will actually sell more... because they will be priced higher. Just like new Fiesta and Focus are good cars, that dont sell well. Similar problem with Opel in Europe... vastly improved lineup... higher prices... billions lost in 2011. |
Sounds like a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario though....because if you go a while without changing it up, people start *****ing about it. I've heard people complain about the Super Duty being basically the same design since 98(although I think they still look dead sexy) and refusing to buy a new one until it's redesigned.

the Hybrid should debut later

Love the sleek exterior, hate the overstyled and obnoxious interior. This trucklet should sell very well.

Not too sure about the front end...
IMO, the design looks better on their cars than SUVs |
I really like it, except for that fender vent that totally looks like an afterthought.

It is big problem for Toyota in Europe, where we get all the cool stuff but cars are among most expensive on the road, vs Toyota USA, with older engines, less equipment, cheaper cars and much, much better sales :-). |
When I think of the old Escape and look at this new one, even if I do not love it, it is 10000% better looking
|
Looks a little girly/Kia/Hyundai -ish in that photo IMO.
1.6L EcoBoost I-4 engine or the available 2.0L EcoBoost engine. A 2.5L I-4 engine is standard. Three engine choices? WTF? isn't that a little overkill and a waste of money for Ford to offer that many choices? Most automakers do just fine offering one plus a hybrid. |
Saw one in person it the parking lot in Ann Arbor yesterday. Looked very nice overall. Interested to see what Toyota does with the next RAV4.
