2 separate things. how about we appreciate the awesomeness of this upstart ats-v vs. the LONG established m and c brands.

Default 2016 Cadillac ATS-V Makes 464HP, Hits 0-60 in 3.8 Seconds

When Cadillac unveiled the 2016 ATS-V sedan and coupe, it said the twin-turbocharged V6 engine produced more than 455hp. Well, it turns out the automaker underestimated the might of the twin-turbo 3.0-liter unit, which was recently SAE-certified at 464hp.

Torque stays almost the same at 444lb-ft (601Nm), but the power increase means that the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V is quicker from 0 to 60 mph by a tenth of a second. While initially the automaker said the 0-60 mph sprint took 3.9 seconds, it turns out it actually takes 3.8 seconds. Furthermore, the top speed of the fastest variant (the coupe without the aero kit) increases from 185 mph (298 km/h) to 189 mph (304 km/h).

This is obviously good news that adds to what we already knew about the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V sedan and coupe. Both models can be had with either a six-speed manual transmission with Active Rev Match, no-lift shifting and launch control, or a paddle-shift 8-speed automatic featuring launch control and Performance Algorithm Shift.

ATS-V models also get a standard electronic limited-slip differential, a high-performance Brembo brake system, a third-generation Magnetic Ride Control and Performance Traction Management. Five different driver-selectable modes will help drivers adjust the car’s handling characteristics to their preferences.

The 2016 Cadillac ATS-V sedan starts from $61,460 in the US, while the coupe is priced from $63,660, excluding “tax, title, license, dealer fees and optional equipment.” Both models will arrive in dealerships in late spring.
