Definitely a beast of a car man, congrats!! No offense and this just my opinion but isn't buying a brand new car of that magnitude at the end of it's generation production is going to have great deprecation? (correct me if I am wrong) I mean it's completely okay if this is the car you had your heart set on and money is not an issue (most likely). I'm just speculating around though

If I had some extra cash to jump car brand new that you were considering it would have to be a 2012 Corvette Centennial Edition Z06. Even though as I mentioned it's buying a 100k+ car at the end of it's generation production but since it has the "100th anniversary" glamour to it i'm guessing that it will hold it's value well in the future (from a collect-ability standpoint that is), again that's just my speculating and giving some of my opinions. In no way am I bashing you.

Anyways congrats again and enjoy the car in great health

I have studied the pics of the new 991 Porsche, and personally, I prefer the 997 body style from every angle. Concerns over depreciation is not the reason I buy a car, if it was, I would never buy a car....................... ever

I really like the Z06, just not quite enough to buy it.

Will you ever track the Turbo S? From talking to existing Porsche owners, driving a rear engine car on the track is different from driving a front engine car. Hope you invest in some Porsche-organized advanced driving lessons as well...

This is my worry about buying a Porsche. I know the Turbo S is AWD so that should help some, but damn if I'm not scared about the prospect of a rear engine car.

Congrats on buying a beauty!

The only cars that doesn't depreciate are cars like F40, Enzo, Mclaren F1........etc. And that is if you never drive them, even used beat up high mileage F40 worth a lot less.

Cars are consumable products. You pay to have fun, period

The only way to avoid depreciation is to take the bus.

Agreed. The 997 looks much more classic beatle. 991 is starting to deviate too much from the classic shape.

I say this now though, I am sure when the 991 Turbo S comes out, it will look fabulous.

But then I still much prefer the looks of my LS430 over the LS460.

The Z06 would be the most reliable, least expensive to maintain and biggest bang for buck...however, if you have the $, my pick would be the 911 by far.

GTR!!!!! I drove one last week and I have been looking to buy a used one ever since. I have driven an 09, but after dozens of hours on NAGTROC I am leaning toward an 2010 or even a 2011. The trick is to buy it with low miles and still under factory warranty so you can extend it through the manufacturer

Nope, didn't drive the RS. I actually prefer all the creature comforts, and the PDK trans of the Turbo S.
