The fact that they were able to bring out the same HP from a motor almost a whole liter less IS impressive wether you want to admit it or not. That was the only point I was trying to make. Just like when mitsubishi made wonders with the EVO MR, it was able to keep up with lambos. Doesnt mean I would take one over the Italian.

it is not as if japanese were not doing turbo's and direct injection more than decade ago. And heck, Camry gets better mileage than direct injection Sonata. And is faster too. And more reliable knowing what we know about carbon deposits in these GDI engines.

What happens with these engines 5-6 year sand 200,000 miles in the future? Who knows.

Well....I do borrow my father's IS 250 from time to time and enjoy the smoothness, but I am happy to get back into the seat of my 13 year old 2.5L Legacy GT. Why? Because it can get out of its own way.
