That's just his normal look. When he goes into designer mode his power level hits 9000!

He can start by ditching the grey interiors in all Toyota/Lexus vehicles. Can we get blue and burgandy interiors back please?

Hey spwolf, care to comment on his silly hairstyle?

@spwolf

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear but were you referring to:
-the anime character from Dragon Ball Z
or
-the guy in these pics; Akihiro Dezi Nagaya

Btw, no offense but I can't believe this guy is a car designer (with that kind of hairstyle)

Seriously
He looks more like a 21st century hippie or a drunken rock band musician (like that guy from KISS)

Hahaha rock on 'DEZI'

so in Makati, if someone dresses like that, they are considered drunks? :-).

Dunno, to my european self, looks like arty type... like head designer should be.

For instance here is head engineer for FT-86.

Hehe

But that FT-86 head engineer looks like well-groomed and presentable individual (based on hairstyle). In a way it sort of suits his profession.

Whereas for rockstar DEZI, well............I'm not sure what to say

I think what Sir BrettJacks mentioned explains something:

Yup DEZI as a hardcore musician.........or a graffiti artist.

It's a work of art........in itself

P.S.
Haha I wonder how the barbers and hairstylists will react when they see him? :P

btw, he is also doing FT-86, and i did say that person responsible for FT-86 should be responsible for all of them... Seems i am tight with Toyoda :-).

Here is fun interview:

After seeing Toyoda-san’s relaxed while professional attitude on the 24h Nurburging race, it was certainly one of the most interesting and impressive encounter with a TMC executive in all my time with Toyota. And I really believe, “DEZI” also made a significant impression on my colleagues.
Despite his long time and experience with TMC , Nagaya-san passion for automotive design is intact, and his excitement was communicative. He openly talked to us about the new and fresh era to come for Toyota and Toyota vehicles design. As all major designers or artists, he has a quite strong personal opinion about how design should be pursued for the next generation of Toyota cars, and I guess we would learn more about that quite soon; but most importantly what he confirms to us is that there is a significant shift in Japan in Toyota headquarters about vehicle design importance and customers perception.

Fine. Here's the perfect place to start........dump some of those funeral-home shades and give us some paint-jobs that will actually help keep some of our eyes open.

Who were the cheif designers for the 7th Gen Celica, MR2 Spyder, MKIV Supra? Do those people still work at Toyota? If not, get them back, and if so, get them to the design studio.

If he was the one behind the design of the new FT86, then that's a great start.
