Looks like the Infiniti FX. I dont like the FX and I think I would pick the Infiniti over this.

Guess I'll be the first to go against the grain. From a styling and design standpoint, I think Its implemented very well considering you have two basic SUV shapes (Porsche Cayenne and Honda Pilot) to choose from. Honestly I find it quite striking. When I first heard news of a Maserati SUV I was very skeptical. I mean it took me back to the Aston Martin Lagonda SUV concept . After seeing this, its not half bad. The lines are swept and pronounced giving sporty intent. The wheels have a nice trident design to them. The "Ventiports" on the fenders are sleek, and the grille and lower air damn are aggressive. Yes the rear looks a bit Cayenne"esqe", but I'd rather that then a boxy Pilot .

Of course design is not everything, and the fact that this "Italian" SUV is going to be assembled from a parts bin in Detroit makes me question materials used, assembly, and reliability as much as anyone. It almost seems wrong to call it Italian, but I digress. To give them the benefit of the doubt, Fiat and Chrysler have improved greatly in the last few years. Of course the ENTIRE industry has also raised the bar. So only the future knows what's in store.

Although there's no details, I can only assume an 8-Speed Auto will find its way into this SUV. As for the grunt, I hope and pray that its the 444hp 4.7L V8 from the GranTurismo Stradale (but I'm not holding my breath).

Overall, I do think its a looker. Not as pretty as the redone Cayenne, but a close 2nd in my book.

One last thing, I really think they need to rename this SUV lol. Com'on Maserati, how about something sexy Italian!!

___

For those who need a refresher on the AM Lagonda I mentioned... (HIDE THE CHILDREN!!)

All we are missing is a Maybach SUV, Bugatti SUV, Bentley SUV, Rolls Royce SUV and whatever else.

The Kubang looks like it might go up against the RX, but I can be mistaken.

if you want to feel better about it just say its from MB GL parts bin, that would be the same bin Jeep uses to build GC

Grand Cherokee is the most advanced platform Chrysler has today. It's one of best platforms for offroad/onroad SUVs on the market, it's in the same league with BMW, VW, LR, Toyota and Honda.

I don't see any other way how Kubang would turn into a good SUV without it. You think Fiat could design it from the scratch? They probably could but it would end up being a junk just as any other Maserati in last 30 years besides new Gran Turismo and facelifted Quatrroporte. That is the last thing Maserati needs right now to produce another beautiful junk car.

So far, I believe that this only pollutes the Maserati brand and image...........though I'd like to be proven wrong on this (especially since the Grand Cherokee SRT seems to be a really solid American SUV).
Maserati and Chrysler actually have the same history together. Both started as premium brands and got tarnished hard by the begining of 80s. Since then Maserati was/is until new Gran Turismo showed up which is finally a step into right direction. Chrysler had more luck due to superb Cherokee in the 90s and today and couple of fads like PT and 300 which were still junk but sold enough to keep the brand relevant.

If they build Kubang on Cherokee foundation Maserati will definetely be on the right course. Now about that Quatrroporte..

I would assume chassis and underpinnings. maybe a Quadra Drive/Trac 4WD system

Do not want..at all...do not like how it looks, I do not want a Jeep Maser and it is overall very disappointing to me.
