Toyota with their trucks, and some SUVs seem to keep their designs at least 7-10 years before a redesign. Case in point, the 1st Gen Tacoma lasted almost ten years, (1995.5-2004) before the current generation was introduced for 2005. I believe it, as with this model, went through 3 "facelifts" in its life-cycle.The Hilux that preceeded the Tacoma, I believe lasted from 1988-1995. The previous Land Cruiser's production ran 10 years.
